JOHN FARNHAM
October 26th, 2010ICONIC Australian musician John Farnham will perform the only Queensland concert of his October/November national tour at popular golfing destination RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.
Farnham’s passion to return to the stage was ignited after his show-stealing performance with Cold Play at the Sound Relief concert in March 2009. That experience fuelled a desire to return to touring and prompted a hugely successful 37-date national run last year.
As one of Australia’s most popular and successful performers, Farnham’s November 13 date at Royal Pines presents the perfect opportunity to experience his live show in an intimate and unique outdoor setting.
GOLD COAST 600 V8 SUPER CARS (22- 24th OCT 2010).
August 25th, 2010THE Gold Coast’s annual motor racing carnival will, in 2010, become a three-day motoring feast, showcasing the excitement and adrenalin of Australia’s V8 Supercars with an injection of overseas talent.
The V8 Supercars will race in the Gold Coast 600 competition over two days with a radical new endurance race .
2010 will be the 19th year that the Gold Coast has hosted a motoring spectacular, with the event annually attracting thousands of visitors who revel in the action, both on and off track.
The new Broadwater Park will be transformed each night into an entertainment precinct, with major concerts featuring Australian and international acts.
The BEACH BOYS will headline Saturday evening’s entertainment program, which will also see The Baby Animals, Noiseworks, The Angels, Mondo Rock, James Reyne and Richard Clapton taking to the two stages of the Broadwater Parklands.
Before they do, Ian Carey (Ministry of Sound), Static Revenger featuring Luciana, The Potbelleez, Kid Kenobi and MC Shureshock, Hook N Sling and The Only will kick off the action on Friday night, while Empire of the Sun and Sneaky Sound System will be joined by The Funkoars to close out the festivities on Sunday night.
The V8-only race will see the track size slashed by almost half, and ticket prices will also be slashed.
The admission to each night of the 600 Sounds entertainment is included in the same day ticket price. With a unique racing format during the day followed by the nightly entertainment, that ticket is amazing value for money. For instance, Friday night’s ticket – for a full day’s racing and six big acts that night – is just $49!
